About Mr Phaltankar
Mr Padmanabh Phaltankar is a Consultant Orthopaedic Hip and Knee Surgeon with a special interest in hip and knee replacement, partial and total knee replacement including robotic assisted knee replacement, and knee sports injury surgery. He qualified from the University of Bombay, India in 1992 and completed his undergraduate and postgraduate orthopaedic training at King Edward Memorial Hospital in Bombay, followed by higher surgical training at St George’s Hospital, London and across Surrey and West Sussex, and specialist knee fellowships at the Freeman Hospital, Newcastle upon Tyne and the Edinburgh Royal Infirmary. He worked as an NHS consultant in Greater Manchester from 2005 to 2023 before focusing on his elective hip and knee practice in the private sector.

Mr Phaltankar is registered with the National Joint Registry and has published research on several aspects of ACL reconstruction and knee cartilage surgery. He is a member of the British Association for Surgery of the Knee (BASK) and a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Glasgow.
