Mr Amit Kumar is a highly experienced Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon specialising in hip and knee conditions, alongside musculoskeletal oncology. With extensive clinical expertise, he is known for managing both routine joint issues and complex conditions such as soft tissue sarcomas and bone tumours, helping patients regain mobility and confidence.
Background & Experience
Mr Kumar qualified from the Royal Free and University College London Medical School in 2003. He completed his early surgical training in the North West, followed by specialist postgraduate training in Trauma and Orthopaedics within the East Midlands (South) rotation.
He has undertaken advanced fellowships in lower limb arthroplasty and musculoskeletal oncology at leading centres including Leicester, Nottingham, and Wrightington Hospitals.
In addition to his clinical work, Mr Kumar serves as the Clinical Director of Sarcoma for the Greater Manchester Cancer Pathway Board and is a Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon at Manchester University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.
He is fully trained in managing both degenerative joint conditions and complex oncological cases, combining surgical precision with evidence-based care.
